About Me

My name is Heather.  I am happily married to a man who makes me laugh daily.  We have two amazing boys!  Our oldest is hardworking, loves archery, plays the piano and viola.  Our youngest is energetic, creative, and very strong willed.  He loves drawing, fishing and playing golf.  We love to play board games and watch movies together.  Besides spending time with my funny (and a bit loud) family, baking makes me happy!

I grew up baking cookies alongside my mother using a family recipe passed down from generations.  We would simply decorate them using a mixture of powdered sugar and milk.  Occasionally, we would add food coloring to the icing and sprinkle colored sugar on top.  They weren’t the prettiest, but they were tasty. Although the icing has changed, that cookie recipe is still the same one I use to this day.

I quit my teaching career when my oldest son started half day kindergarten.  Becoming a stay at home mom gave me the opportunity to embrace my love for baking.  I started following baking blogs, trying new recipes and practicing new design techniques. 

I have been baking and decorating cookies and cakes for family and close friends since 2010.  The wonderful responses and overwhelming encouragement from them, gave me the confidence I needed to start my own baking business…Cahill Bakes!
